Buddies was founded in Grants Pass, Oregon, in early 2017 and launched in August of that same year, but the founders are from the east coast. It started with an idea shared between a couple of friends in a Charlotte, North Carolina high school—they wanted to create a brand everyone could participate in. James, now the president of Buddies Brand, and Nick moved to Washington to start building their vision from the ground up. Shane Coble, founder of Permanent Vacation, was the missing piece of the puzzle that brought that vision into reality. He moved to Washington to help them get Buddies up and running. In the beginning, Buddies focused on making crumble wax, hash, and resin, prioritizing quality and scalability. They quickly figured out terpene extraction and began experimenting with re-introducing terpene profiles to their distillate. As a result, their Sour Tangie strain won Best Vape Cartridge in Oregon’s 2018 Dope Cup.&nbsp;That spirit of experimentation can be felt throughout their product line. Take their live resin “Liquid Diamonds”, for instance. Buddies freezes their flower within an hour of harvesting it to retain the terpenes and cannabinoids so they can extract it using a BHO process and create their live resins,—that’s nothing new, it’s just the best way to make crystals. They had the crazy idea of engineering a process to reduce those crystals back down to a crystal state for more precise dosing and dabbing. Buddies is one of the few vape cartridge producers that’s operating successfully in three states with legal recreational cannabis. ﻿They have facilities in Oregon, Washington, and California that all have to stay compliant with each individual states’ regulations for cannabis production while also maintaining the consistent level of quality on which they built their brand. We respect that entrepreneurial spirit, and in the past three years, Buddies has grown from three guys with a vision to over a hundred people working to make the best cannabis extract everyone can participate in.

The best offense is a good defense, and there's nothing directly offensive about this strain. Gary Payton has a rich, spicy flavor that harbors hints of sweetness beneath its herbal diesel exterior. You might get a little bit of mint and nutmeg on the exhale, but it's not a cougher.
